Yesterday, in spite of that frustration and some general stress, was pretty much a good day. Temperatures soared into the mid-seventies (probably breaking the record high), and it felt like real, honest-to-goodness Spring. Thunderstorms threatened in the distance but never materialized.
I've started lugging my camera with me to work every day again. I had been in the habit for a while but got lazy and stopped. I'm slowly beginning to see pictures again. Here's one from yesterday afternoon, after the first threat of rain had passed and the sun was just starting to break through the clouds:

Today's the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, so I listened to the soundtracks from Gods and Generals, Gettysburg, and Glory. All good music, but Gettysburg hasn't aged very well. As much as I love the main theme (especially as presented in the final cue, "Reunion and Finale"), much of the rest of the score sounds dated and trite. The other two scores fare much better, with Glory probably being the best of the bunch — despite the fact that James Horner re-used one of its primary themes as a theme for the Na'vi in Avatar.
My brain's pretty worn out, so I think that's about all for today.

I like that photo.
I can see what you're saying about the Gettysburg soundtrack, from what I remember - though I still love that main theme. but I just listened through the whole Gods & Generals soundtrack last week in the car, it is so beautiful
Alice: Thanks, I like it too. :)
MK: Just to clarify, I don't dislike Gettysburg. One of the things I do like about it is it's very easy to listen to, especially if I'm working on something that requires concentration. The music is a bit simplistic, so it's not very distracting. And the melodies are quite good.
